A few weeks ago, our leadership team set off to Miami to see our founder Brooke's new home and plan some exciting things for Sapahn for the rest of the year. It was an unforgettable trip filled with sun, sand, and plenty of inspiration. We can't wait to share our favorite spots we discovered along the way, plus the Sapahn pieces we all chose to travel with.
Where We Stayed
Our home base for the trip was the iconic Fontainebleau Miami Beach. This resort offered everything we needed for a relaxing and productive stay: spacious rooms that became our remote office, an incredible spa, multiple pool options, and easy access to the beach. Whether we were talking all things Sapahn, soaking up the sun, or unwinding after a day of exploring, Fontainebleau was the perfect choice.
Other places to consider for your next Miami trip:
- Biltmore Hotel: This hotel is a slice of Miami history. Known for its historic elegance and lush surroundings, The Biltmore is right in Brooke’s neighborhood, so we waved to it while we were getting a driving tour of her corner of Miami, Coral Gables.
- The Standard: A chic spot with a focus on wellness and relaxation. We enjoyed dining at their restaurant, Lido Bayside, and the walk to the waterside dining room was a content creator’s dream.
Where We Ate
Miami's culinary scene is as vibrant as its culture. We tried to take in as many cuisines as possible during our 3-day trip. Here are a few of our top dining spots:
Motek: A delightful spot for Mediterranean cuisine, offering everything from fresh hummus to flavorful shawarma. We enjoyed a savory brunch of shakshuka, labneh, and a Greek salad. It was the perfect light but hearty meal after walking along the beach. And the ambiance? Beautiful and dreamy.
Honestly, it felt like we were in a fairytale restaurant.
Bakan: Authentic Mexican dishes in a stylish setting, perfect for a lively dinner. We hit up Bakan after exploring Wynwood and wow, it did not disappoint. From the delicious cocktails to the sea bass tacos, everything was so yummy. But the real showstopper for us was dessert—the most amazing churro. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and served with both cinnamon ice cream and an espresso cajeta sauce. YUM!
Still dreaming of this dessert.
Lido Bayside: A waterfront gem offering delicious seafood and stunning views. We came here for the views, but the food was equally spectacular. We all started with a piña colada (because why not?!) and shared a few dishes—crab cakes, scallops, and a beet salad. It was all so fresh, colorful, and delicious!
Yummy food, waterfront views and the best company.
Esquina de la Fama: For those craving a taste of Cuba, this place is a must-visit. We came for two things: smoking mojitos and a Cuban sandwich. We loved the lively atmosphere, our fun waiter, and the authentic cuisine. A must if you are in Little Havana.
You can't tell from the photo, but our mojitos were smoking!
Bartaco: A casual spot for tacos and cocktails, great for a relaxed mid-day lunch. A gorgeous atmosphere and yummy Mexican food, we enjoyed the chill vibes and simple but tasty food. We sat at the bar—great for people-watching as their windows fully open to the streets of Coconut Grove.
Such an airy and relaxing vibe.
What We Explored
Miami is full of vibrant neighborhoods and exciting activities. Here are some of the highlights from our trip:
Wynwood: Known for its street art, we loved wandering through this colorful district and admiring the creativity on display. We had fun getting a little goofy posing in front of all the fun walls.
Each wall was unique and showcased the talent of the artist and their personality.
- We were really lucky the Balloon Museum was on exhibit during our trip. The feeling of pure joy we had walking from installation to installation is something our team will never forget.
We got to jump into this giant ball pit!
Cute shoes right?
How could we not take advantage of such a photo opp.
Little Havana: Stepping into this neighborhood felt like a journey to Cuba. From the music to the food, it was a sensory delight. Make sure to check out Domino Park on Calle Ocho where locals gather to play the game.
Cuban flare on the liveliest street.
Coconut Grove: This charming area offered a mix of shopping, dining, and beautiful views, making it perfect for an afternoon stroll. We walked to the marina, then down the streets until we got caught in a rainstorm and settled in for a mid-day lunch.
South Beach: No trip to Miami is complete without a visit to its famous beaches. We soaked up the sun and enjoyed the lively atmosphere. South Beach also features the iconic art deco architecture the area is known for.
Travel with Sapahn
Of course, no trip is complete without the perfect travel accessories. Here are the Sapahn pieces we couldn't leave home without:
- The So Honey Canvas Weekender: Both Ann and Cassie used this as their personal item to carry on. It is spacious but still fits under the seat.
- The Poole: Hands-free but still chic, the Sapahn version of “that bag” is an elevated take on the fanny pack.
- The Staney: A go-to for so many reasons, Staney takes the space of one bag in your suitcase but can be worn 5 ways, giving you the best ROI on coveted carry-on space.
- The Winnie Jo: Both Cassie and Brooke packed this wallet-turned-crossbody. It quickly goes from day to night and is easy to toss into your bigger bag for travel days.
- The Chloe Mini: Both Ann and Cassie packed this mid-size bag for the 3-day trip. It is just big enough for days where you need a little more space but you don’t feel like you’re lugging something along on your adventures.
- The Lily: She is chic, she is a standout, she had to make an appearance in Miami. All three of us carried the Lily for one of our three nights out. She just is that statement bag that makes an outfit.
- Chain Strap: Easy to toss in your suitcase but turns any bag a little dressier.
- The Cherie: Duh! This bag was part of our Miami Capsule collection so of course she was at the pool with us. We tossed in our water bottles, sunscreen, and cover-ups for afternoons spent at the pool and beach.
We hope our Miami adventure inspires your next getaway and we are dreaming of the next time we can all be together again <3
