On the Road: Denver Renegade Craft Fair

Posted on

Greetings Bridge Builders!

We took Sapahn to the Rocky Mountains last week to be a part of the Renegade Craft Fair in Denver, Colorado. This fair started in Chicago in 2003 and in the last 13 years has spread to nine different locations including London, LA, NY, and now Colorado.  The show’s mission is to, “create a vibrant and lively marketplace that both reflects and illuminates the work of today’s modern makers.” The jury of the show definitely delivered. See some of our favs below.

After working for many months to get our fall line ready it’s always a treat to stand alongside other “makers” at a show of this magnitude and to share it with our customers.  Customers were LOVING our buttery-soft leather and the easy style of our Fishnet Infinity scarves. No surprise here.

Show Highlight: You also never know who you will meet at the shows. We were so excited to meet a long time customer from Lincoln Nebraska who recently moved to Denver! She snatched up the Gray JW Crossbody & the Marsala Parker Wristlet for the season.

Artist Highlight: One of the best arts of being a vendor is the comradery among artisans. We had such a blast hanging our booth “neighbors” who are all creating amazing pieces.

Strange Dirt: Otherwise known as Marsha Robinson.  This phenomenal artist is self taught and her hand drawn ink and pen pieces are a wonder to the eye and spirit.  Take a look at her website and be amazed at the grandness of her creations.
By ElkeThis woman will steal your heart.  At Sapahn we nurture collaboration not competition and Elke gave us such a good opportunity to experience that over the weekend.  She is wise beyond her years and makes beautiful one of a kind bags.  She will also share a good story and encourage you during the long hours of a show.
Luke Hobbs Design: If you are looking for a creative spin on a necessity this is where you will find it.  Luke makes touch lamps from one of a kind found objects.  People couldn’t keep their hands off his creations.  I overheard one woman say “This is my jam”  Every vendor loves to hear things like that!  Take a look at his website, I have a feeling that Santa was taking note of every piece!

We are off to a great fall start and the fun has just begun! Next stop: Kansas City Holiday Mart October 20-23rd. With over 200 vendors and 20k shoppers, this is one of our favorite events each year!

We’ll also be in Minneapolis and Chicago this season. See our full event list here

People matter, and we promise never to lose sight of that from our makers to our champions. What a treat to work with this dedication at the forefront of every move that we make.
