This year's theme for International Women's Day focused around social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women with the tagline #PressforProgress. With a call to action to make a positive difference for women, we saw this as a perfect fit to what Sapahn is achieving through our business approach. Our Philosophy is to put human rights first, allowing artisans to set their own wages and be able to work from home. While also providing a sustainable market for them to sell their goods, we are trying our best to empower others daily.

Our interns took on the exciting challenge to create an event on their own campus, The University of Nebraska! Ideas floated around and we decided upon doing a booth at the Student Union. There was a photo booth area, a raffle to win one of our beautiful, handmade leather bags, and merchandise discounted for purchase. With lots of colors, our Cotton Scarves were a favorite and the Dona Lanyards became a great new addition for many students to keep organized.

People stopped to snap pictures on our red carpet while holding signs of encouraging words. They also wrote different ways they empower others on cards that were displayed around the booth. Our Sapahn sign was the perfect backdrop for the pictures featuring our motto of, "Beautiful Things Doing Beautiful Things."

With the help of the amazing Ann, our interns conducted the show from start to finish and had a successful first event! We hope you all enjoyed seeing the new faces with Sapahn and as always we loved getting to meet previous and new customers while sharing our story!
